Luis Huete
Luis is the owner and head coach of Grit Health and Performance. He has been around sports and athletics since he was 3 years old when he was first playing soccer, which lead him to play competitively in his teenage years. He was introduced to the fitness industry at the young age of 13 when he began training Mixed Martial Arts. By the age of 15, he was coaching kids’ MMA classes then later began training one-on-one sessions with adults. It’s no doubt that Luis has a competitive edge, as he was Canada’s Top 10 Professional MMA fighter in 2015. He opened his first MMA gym at the age of 19, and has owned & operated several businesses since. He has been an evolving strength coach for over 8 years learning under some of the world’s top strength coaches and applying what he learns to himself and his clients. His mission is to revolutionize the way people train and set them up for longterm success.
NATHAN OBRIGEWITSCH
Nathan was raised in Fort McMurray, Alberta where he grew up as a multi-sport athlete. He attended Keyano College in 2012, studying Kinesiology and obtaining a diploma in Fitness and Leadership. Nathan played ACAC Basketball at Keyano College and at NAIT. During his time in athletics, he began to realize that fitness and health were his true passion. Nathan strives to provide effective movement and performance coaching to authentically help as many individuals move pain free, obtain their goals, perform and live life at peak potential.
Professional Certifications: Diploma of Sport and Leadership; CPTN-CPT, CPPS
JEN OBRIGEWITSCH
Jen is one of Grit’s certified nutritionists. She obtained a Kinesiology diploma in Exercise Science from College of the Rockies in 2014. She then became certified in holistic nutrition after graduating from CSNN in 2017 and is now a certified Precision Nutrition coach! Asides from nourishing her body and mind with the right foods and coaching her nutrition clients, Jen is a beast in the gym!
JADE HUETE
Jade is Grit’s newest intern trainer. She has been strength training for over 7 years and has taken the leap to share her love and knowledge of fitness with the community. Her mission is to help individuals step out of their comfort zone and build confidence in the weight room so they can find success through fitness in their everyday lives. Her most important job is being a mom to two boys, which has taught her to always be learning, always be present and be ready for action at all times.
